Welcome to The Wandering Palette. I enjoy working with a variety of media as well as traveling and drawing my travels- hence the name. My favorite media are pastels, acrylic, and ink. You will find that most of my realistic work is done with pastels, and the organic, abstract pieces are composed of acrylics and ink. Travels have taken me throughout Europe, to the Caribbean Islands, and the continental United States. Charleston, though, has been a continuous source of inspiration to me for the past ten years. After studying sales and management at the University of South Carolina, I made the move to Charleston in 1997 from Columbia, SC. Ironically, during my college studies, I took only two studio art classes. The bulk of my formal art training was during my youth. My parents always supported my interest in the arts- and allowed me to pursue them through a variety of programs. I was privileged to study under many truly talented and accomplished artists, including: Jonathan Green, Kim Keats, Russell Everet and Mark Flowers at the Sea Island School for the Arts (South Carolina Department of Education Artistic Gifted & Talented Program) in Beaufort, SC, and Firespark! (School for Gifted Students in Fine Arts and Communications) through Brenau University in Gainesville, Georgia.
Love and encouragement from my husband Allen has given me new energy to spend more time creating and promoting my art. Take a look around the website for a selection of both recent and past work. Thank you for visiting WanderingPalette.com! Please check back periodically for updates.
